Thenuga completes her MRes at UCC

We feel proud to inform you that disciple of Sri Karaikudi Subramanian and a student at Brhaddhvani, Thenuga Thevapalan, has completed her Masters degree in music through research, on the Karaikudi vina tradition, at the University College Cork, Ireland (MRes in Music). Her study focused on the stylistic aspects in the Karaikudi tradition through individual performance studies of four eminent vina players representing this tradition: The legendary maestro, Sri Karaikudi Sambasiva Iyer and his prime disciples, Smt. Ranganayaki Rajagopalan, Smt. Rajeswari Padmanabhan, and Sri Karaikudi Subramanian. Her dissertation, titled "Karaikudi vina tradition: a comparative study", can be accessed through this link.
